I agree with your article about a few of the bars in Lakeview (boystown).  It is actually part of the reason why I have drastically cut down on my going out activity to the gay bars.  I have found myself focusing on my heterosexual friends and building those friendships and frequenting straight bars…not as much drama and rudeness.  Being a native of Lakeview since 1970, I have seen many changes in the area.  My patience cannot handle the over the top queen or drag queen that is on a rampage…I just simply don't have time for it, and going out in the gay community has turned into a chore more than a pleasure.  We're supposed to be a community and I just don't see it in the self-defeating actions and drug abuse that I see when I do go out.

You just saved my relationship with your article on how to pick a therapist.
My lover and I wondered why are therapy sessions were not getting anywhere. After we read your article, we called up the guy and found out he was not even licensed! Thanks for the tip!

Glad to see this out there and that the gay community is realizing this is a big problem and doing something about it.  THis problem has become an epidemic as bad as AIDS.  I was just in SanFrancisco for several months and the situation is even worse out there.  Chicago is getting almost as bad.

Very poignant...thank you, I respect the efforts to make people realize what they are doing to themselves.  As a reformed "speed freak", I'm lucky to not be friends with "Tina" anymore.

I think this is so cool that you are putting this out here. So many people need to be educated about it and its becoming such a huge problem.  God knows I've had my share of drug problems in the past.  I think it is courageous and responsible to make our community think about this.
